In our culture there seems to be big emphasis on making decisions based upon on our feelings and desires. In other words, we need to be able to follow our heart. Is that a wise way to approach life? Do we really want our feelings and the desires of our heart to lead us? Is this a wise way to navigate through life?
What does scripture say about our hearts?
Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
Wow! That paints a bleak picture for the idea of following the heart. What does this mean? It means our hearts can get badly off track on their own.
The heart needs a guide and God has given us who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior His gift of the Holy Spirit to help us navigate through life.
