I Chronicles 29:11, “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.”
Who is in that “everything in heaven and earth is yours”? That “yours” includes you and me if we believe in Jesus Christ as Savior.
Inside of that statement lies one of the biggest struggles that a believer has. Let’s look at some questions as to why this can be difficult.
- What do I love the most? God says that needs to be Me.
- What am I most passionate about? God says that needs to be Me.
- What are my priorities? God says they need to be My priorities that I have set forth in scripture for you.
- Who is in control? God says that needs to be Me.
The reality is that life cannot get better than when I give more and more control of my life to God/Jesus. That means I have less and less control which a very good thing because I have the tendency to mess things up bad when I decide to take control of my life. I make bad decisions that hurt others and have detrimental attitudes that hurt me and others when I have control.
